Conversation with Florentine painters: private tour of the Uffizi Museum

The museum has more than 100 rooms. The arrangement of the group is in chronological order, so it will be very easy for younger people to understand the evolution of Florentine painting over the centuries. For a first visit to the museum, I suggest limiting the guided tour to the 2nd floor of the building to focus mainly on the paintings of the great Florentine masters:

• Sandro Botticelli: “The Birth of Venus” and “Primavera.”
• Leonardo da Vinci: “The Annunciation,” “The Baptism of Christ,” and “The Adoration of the Magi.”
• Michelangelo: “The Tondo Doni,” the artist’s only painting in Italy.
• Raffaello: “The Virgin with the Chardonnoret” and several portraits.

These are magnificent works, evidence of the great innovations in 15th- and 16th-century Florentine painting, and representative of the period of the Florentine Renaissance and the birth of Mannerism. These are all images found in school history books. Here you would finally have a chance to see the originals.

 The guided tour allows you to learn a little more about the history of the paintings, their iconography, the demands of the patrons as well as secrets and anecdotes about the Florentine artists.

Also, in 2019, the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519), a visit to the Uffizi Museum can be a great opportunity to celebrate the great genius. 

The visit ends at the panoramic terrace, a breathtaking view of the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio.
