Visiting the Museums of Florence with the Family

It would be a shame to come to Florence with your children and not enjoy one of its many museums. The Renaissance is a fundamental and magnificent chapter in the history of Italy and France, of which Florence was the “cradle.” In the 15th century, Florence became a gigantic artistic and cultural site where the great artists of the time met. Give yourself the opportunity, accompanied by an official guide, to enjoy all these masterpieces that are constantly found in history books.

Each course is private and tailored to the age of your children, both in terms of duration and content. My job is to allow each member to take an interest in the visit and to share an enjoyable time with family or friends.

Given a large number of museums in Florence, I suggest choosing at least two of the most important museums:

– The Uffizi Museum: the great museum of Florentine painting

– The Accademia Gallery: Michelangelo and the famous statue of David

Conversation with Florentine painters: private tour of the Uffizi Museum

madonna del cardellino raffaello

With your private guide, you can enjoy the most famous masterpieces in the collection and leave the Uffizi completely enchanted. The museum is very large, having more than 100 rooms. With younger children, I recommend limiting the guided tour to the 2nd floor of the museum to focus mainly on the paintings of the four great masters: Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. These are magnificent works and representative of the Florentine Renaissance period. Moreover, in 2019, the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519), a visit to the Uffizi Museum can be an opportunity to celebrate the great artist.

The guided tour allows you to learn a little more about the history of the paintings, their iconography, the requests of the patrons, as well as secrets and anecdotes about the Florentine artists.

A moment not to be missed!

Meet Michelangelo: private tour of the Accademia Gallery

The Academy Museum is one of the most visited places in Florence, and since 1873 it houses the original David, one of Michelangelo’s main works.

A guided tour of the Accademia Gallery is an option for those who want to get a clearer view of Michelangelo’s sculptures, from the technique of his work to his artistic journey. The museum has few rooms, so the visit is perfect for young people, children, and teens. It is impossible to even for young children not to succumb to the fascination of this statue by Michelangelo: a Greek hero with the body of an athlete perfectly embodying the Renaissance Man. The anatomical perfection, the concentrated and severe gaze, the naked body like the athletes of Antiquity, and above all the beauty make the statue of David, even today, the symbol of the entire Renaissance. Made between 1501 and 1504, when Michelangelo was only 26 years old, the David is imposing at 4.17 meters tall. A private tour of the Accademia Gallery with your English-speaking guide will allow you to learn about the history of this statue, its secrets, the reasons for its success, and Michel-Angelo’s tormented personality and angry temper.

. Choosing a tour guide for a private tour allows you to make a selection of the most famous works to maximize the time of your visits and your stay, thus making each trip unforgettable and exciting for the whole family.
